Effective 2026–2027 Season

Xtra Soccer Academy would like to inform our families of an important national change to youth soccer age group formation.

After extensive review and collaboration, US Youth Soccer (USYS), AYSO, and US Club Soccer have collectively approved a shift to a new age group cycle beginning with the 2026–2027 season.

New Age Group Formation Cycle

Starting in 2026–2027, age groups will follow an:

August 1 – July 31 formation cycle

What This Means for Our Club

Over the coming months, we will communicate clearly with families about how this impacts team placements and future tryouts.

To support families during this transition, U.S. Soccer has introduced an age group calculator tool to help determine your player’s correct age group based on birthdate.
