OVERVIEW
The Academy Phase at Xtra Soccer Academy is a key step in player development, bridging the gap between the Pre-Academy and Select levels. Players at this stage refine their individual skills, deepen their understanding of the game, and develop the ability to work effectively within a team. Emphasis is placed on game-related practices, tactical awareness, and preparing players for the competitive challenges they will encounter at the Select level.
KEy Focus

Intermediate Technical Development: Fine-tuning ball control, passing, and shooting to increase precision and confidence.

Game-Related Practices: Implementing drills and activities that simulate real-game scenarios for dynamic skill application.

Increased Tactical Training: Introducing positioning, game awareness, and decision-making to help players read and respond to various situations.

Competitive Games: Structured match play to develop resilience, mental toughness, and a competitive mindset.

Being a Good Teammate: Emphasizing communication, support, and collaboration on and off the field.

Expanded 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 Scenarios: Challenging players in advanced small-sided games to develop individual and team skills under pressure.
The Academy Phase prepares players for the demands of Select-level soccer, sharpening technical skills and tactical understanding while fostering confident, well-rounded athletes.
Pre N1L Program
(Training, Development, Pricing)
Training: Two practices per week during Fall & Spring, plus 8 additional Winter training sessions.
League: NYSL Fall & Spring + optional Winter League.
Tournaments: 2–3 each Fall & Spring, with Winter options.
Included: Fall Academy Camp, Techne Training App access, LeagueApps communication, and 50% discount on Camps & Programs.
Obligated Team Fees: Obligated team fees include Fall and Spring team tournament fees (the total team cost divided evenly among all rostered players) and uniforms.
Optional Team Fees: Optional team fees apply to Winter league play and Winter tournaments conducted between November 1 and March 1, and players are not required to participate in league or tournament play.
COST: $1700 + Team Fees
WHITE/Black Team Program
(Training, Development, Pricing)
Training: Two practices per week during Fall & Spring, plus one practice per week during Winter.
League: NYSL Fall & Spring + optional Winter League.
